Foreclosures: Portland Up 17%, Seattle 71% in Q3

Portland-area foreclosures soared nearly 17 percent in the third quarter, with notices filed against 7,157 properties or one in every 126 households.
Of the 206 markets tracked, 133 posted annual increases in foreclosure activity. The Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue market led the nation with a whopping 71 percent increase in third quarter foreclosure activity.
Nationally, the foreclosure rate fell by a little less than 1 percent, with 930,437 new notices filed against one in every 139 households.
